If you look at the galatic timeline and the tiny blink of an eye that has made up human civilization, our excessive use of fossil fuels seems even more wasteful. It is a finite resource and we are blowing it for our children. We should be saving it for extraordinary projects that advance humankind and not wasting it on making junk.
