I have been corrected. Supporters of Run 7 On 7 (see earlier post) have told me that Linda Quirk is traveling to all seven continents to run marathons by herself, and is not taking others with her, as a runner here in Portland had reported.
As I’ve mentioned earlier, I think it’s great that Linda is raising money for alcohol and drug treatment. My challenge to her is that airline travel contributes heavily to global warming, and buying carbon offsets is the least a person can do about that.
I have not yet heard anything from Linda Quirk, herself. I would be happy to donate $100 to her cause if Linda would like to buy $100 in carbon offsets from the organization of her choice. Linda?
